STEPHEN LAWRENSON - SOMEWHERE ELSE

This cd gets the BIG FIVE STAR POWER POP REVIEW ***** A perfect listen, a perfect album, not too long, not too short...with perfectly infectious tunes ...one after another! Great song writing, playing and singing. It's not under produced, or over produced--it's hits the spot just right! STEPHEN LAWRENSON understands how to make a great power pop song. Listen to track #2 LET'S GO---This would have fit perfectly on CHEAP TRICK'S "IN COLOR" album. There is also a very strong BEATLES vibration. But it's more LENNON than McCartney...and perhaps some serious HARRISON TOO!!!...Listen to the perfect slide guitar on track #4 "ANYBODY ELSE" and you know that the ghost of George is alive and well even though "all things must pass". It doesn't stop there, at times the vocals sound like ROBIN ZANDER of CHEAP TRICK. (and that's a good thing) Other influences include the first ENUFF ZNUFF album. And did I mention, this also sounds like THE MYRACLE BRAH'S great LIFE ON PLANET EARTSNOP album ??? The icing on the power pop cake is that this album is full of intelligent lyrics with meaningful messages. Just listen to track #6....The thought provoking "SUCCESS" .... " We learn more from our failures than we do from our success" You get the idea!!! This is a great one and worth every hard earned penny to purchase it. GET IT NOW!!! *****
