Nice new Canadian import on the BEAUTIFUL MUSIC label. To my knowledge, this is the bands 2nd release and this is solid indie power pop that is simply very easy to enjoy! SKYTONE makes music that has a nice mix of jangle pop, psych pop, and indie pop. I think the bands strong point is in the *vocal* department! These guys know how to sing and make nice melodies. The tracks "I will follow" and "Working Class Lament" are great examples of this ...the vocal harmonies are superb and hint at the Beach Boys. Their sound is so unique mixing elements of The Strokes, Beach Boys, Plain White T's, Franz Ferdinand, Oasis, and many others. BOTTOM LINE: SKYTONE is a winner and worthy to be heard!!! Pick this up and hear why.
